How we Make a Magnetic Reflective Sign

At the Reflective Sign Shop, we make a variety of signs for a multitude of applications.  One popular application is a magnetic sign for a vehicle or metal door on a building.   When vehicles approach, these signs light up at night and call attention to themselves.  Website names,  phone numbers, email addresses, business hours, open or closed signs, are just a few of the popular phrases people want on their custom magnetic sign. To make sure your sign lasts a long time, we use only the best quality magnetic material and reflective vinyl for our signs.  The images below show how we make a magnetic retro reflective sign.

We begin by designing the sign on a computer. We can put anything the customer likes, as long as it fits.  Once the letters and numbers are designed, we cut the reflective vinyl on a plotter, weed away the excess, and transfer tape them. (transfer tape holds letters and numbers together so they can be applied at one time)retro reflective magnetic signAfter lining up the letters on the magnetic material (which we cut to size), we hinge the letters, peel off the backing paper, and squeegee on.  This is done dry with no application fluid in order to maintain the integrity of the reflective material.  After we apply the letters, the transfer tape is pulled off to reveal the design.magnetic reflective car signAfter the transfer tape is removed, the sign is ready to ship.  As you can see, it is vivid in the daytime, and very bright at night.  By using reflective signage, you can double your signs effectiveness by making it visible 24 hours a day.  When all other signs go dark, yours lights up.magnetic reflective sign for doorAs previously stated, these signs can be applied to any metal surface that can receive and hold a magnetic (not fiberglass, aluminum, or stainless steel)  Reflective signs can be seen 24 hours a day and are especially effective at night when all other signs go dark.  We have these in our online store.  Link on the left top of this site.
